Art Requirements

Providing print-ready artwork helps ensure the best possible results and keeps your project moving through production smoothly.

VECTOR ARTWORK (PREFERRED)

For the sharpest lines and highest-quality prints, we strongly recommend submitting vector artwork.

Accepted Vector Formats: .AI, .EPS, .PDF, .SVG

Vector graphics are created using points, lines, and curves rather than pixels, allowing them to be scaled to any size without losing quality. This makes them ideal for apparel decoration, signs, banners, stickers, and promotional products.

Don't have a vector file? No problem — we can help.
Our graphic design team can convert most artwork into a production-ready vector file. Vectorization services start at $40 and may increase depending on the complexity and quality of the original artwork.

Once your artwork has been vectorized, we'll provide you with the finished vector files for your records. You'll be able to use these files for future printing, embroidery, signage, promotional products, and other projects without needing to have the artwork recreated again.

RASTER ARTWORK

Raster images are made up of pixels and may lose quality when enlarged.

Accepted Raster Formats: .PSD, .PDF, .TIF, .JPG, .GIF, .BMP, .PNG

To ensure a quality print, raster files must be at least 300 DPI at the final print size. Low-resolution artwork may require recreation or may not be suitable for production.

HAND-DRAWN ARTWORK

Hand-drawn, scanned, or photographed artwork should be submitted at 300 DPI or higher and as close to the intended print size as possible.

ARTWORK PREPARATION

Our team reviews all submitted artwork before production. Minor adjustments and basic cleanup may be completed at no charge. However, artwork that requires significant editing, recreation, vectorization, color separation, or production setup may be subject to additional design fees.

For the best results, submit artwork that:

  • Is provided as a vector file whenever possible
  • Includes a transparent background
  • Uses Pantone (PMS) colors when specific color matching is required
  • Is sized appropriately for the intended print area
  • Has all fonts outlined or converted to curves

PROCREATE ARTWORK

Artwork created in Procreate can often be used for production when exported properly. For best results, export your artwork as an SVG file when available or provide the highest-resolution file possible. Additional artwork preparation may be required before production.

DESIGN FEES

If artwork is not production-ready, additional graphic design services may be required.

Current Design Rates:

  • Graphic preparation and artwork recreation: $65 per hour
  • Revisions to existing designs, color separations, or file updates: Starting at $80 per design

We will always notify you and obtain approval before performing billable artwork services.

AI-GENERATED ARTWORK POLICY

We welcome AI-generated artwork as a starting point for your project. However, most AI-generated files are not production-ready, even when the file extension is listed as an .AI (Adobe Illustrator) file.

AI Artwork Conversion Fee: Starting at $50.00, and may increase based on design complexity. Additional art charges will be communicated and approved prior to production.

Production Limitations: AI-generated artwork often contains visual effects that cannot be reproduced exactly through screen printing, embroidery, DTF, promotional products, or other decoration methods. These include:

  • Gradients, glows, and shadows
  • Transparency and lighting effects
  • Color transitions and metallic effects
  • Complex textures, fine details, and intricate elements

As a result, the final production artwork may differ from the original AI-generated image.

AI ARTWORK RECREATION

To make AI-generated artwork printable, our design team may need to:

  • Redraw portions of the artwork
  • Simplify details
  • Replace unsupported effects
  • Separate colors for production
  • Convert raster elements into vector artwork

While we strive to maintain the overall look and feel of the original design, the final production artwork will be an interpretation of the AI-generated concept and may not match it exactly.

ARTWORK APPROVAL & MOCKUPS

Please review your artwork proof, mockups, and print specifications carefully before approving your order.

Mockups are provided as a visual reference for design placement and overall appearance. While we strive to create accurate mockups, they are not intended to represent exact print dimensions or placement. Variations between garment brands, sizes, and styles may affect how artwork appears on the finished product.

By approving your artwork proof, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and approved:

  • Spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Artwork placement, print size, and dimensions
  • Ink colors and garment colors
  • Quantities, sizes, and product selections

CHANGES AFTER APPROVAL

Once artwork has been approved, any changes may result in additional charges and could impact your production timeline.

A production proof will be provided for approval prior to production. By approving the proof, the customer acknowledges and accepts any modifications required to make the artwork suitable for the selected decoration method.

Fresh Press Ink is not responsible for differences between the original AI-generated artwork and the final printed or embroidered product when those differences are necessary for successful production.
